Dog Vaccinations

We have been providing dog vaccinations to clients in Holbeach, Wisbech, Spalding, Moulton, Long Sutton, surrounding villages and even further for more that 20 years!

What vaccinations does my dog need?

Your dog needs at least their core vaccinations to protect them from potentially deadly diseases.  When they were puppies they should have had been vaccinated twice, a few weeks apart. Then after this receive a booster by the vet once a year alongside a health check.

If you have a rescue dog, they should have had their vaccinations before being rehomed.  Make sure you are aware of when their booster is due so you can book your dog in.

What happens when

You will need to book your dog in for a booster when their core vaccinations are due (see their vaccination card).  In the appointment the vet will carry out a health check. The vet will also inject your dog with their annual booster, if you have any concerns or questions about your dog please let the vet know.

What if i miss the booster due date?

If you have missed your booster due date contact us to see if they can still receive the booster.   If you are really late ie a few months then the dog may have to restart their course of vaccinations, and be vaccinated twice, a few weeks apart.  The second vaccination could be carried out by a nurse.

What does the core vaccinations protect against?

Our core vaccinations help protect against:

  • Canine Distemper (viral disease affect lungs, brain, gut)

  • Hapatitis  (liver affected and could cause sudden death)

  • Parvovirus (contagious virus causing diarrhoea, vomiting and sometimes fatal)

  • Leptospirosis (typically water contaminated by rat urine, could result in kidney/liver failure)

Additional vaccines:

Kennel cough (usually required by boarding, day care and other facilities)

Rabies (required when travelling abroad)

*Note if you board your dogs during the year, some boarding facilities can be very strict and require boosters to be vaccinated on time, check with them what their rules are.

**It is always best to make sure if boarding or travelling abroad you make sure you know which vaccines you are required to vaccinate your dog with.
